Helpful Tips with Pop Up Blockers

You must disable pop up blockers in your browser or firewall to use Cal Coast Online. If you're having difficulty accessing eStatements, or Check Images in Cal Coast Online, your pop up blocker may be enabled.

Use the following procedures to disable your pop up blocker. You may have the choice to disable pop up blockers only for Cal Coast Online, while keeping them enabled for all other web sites.

Procedures for Disabling Pop Up Blockers in the Most Popular Web Browsers and Toolbars.

Microsoft Internet Explorer
There are several versions of Internet Explorer available from Microsoft. The version on your computer is largely dependent your operating system and version.

As of Internet Explorer Version 6 SP2, Pop-Up blocking is enabled by default.

Please select your operating system below:

  • Windows XP
    1. Click Start, click Run, type inetcpl.cpl, and then click OK to open the Internet Properties dialog box. Alternatively, open Internet Explorer, and then click Internet Options on the Tools menu to open the Internet Properties dialog box.
    2. Click the Privacy tab, and then do either of the following:
      - Click to select Block pop-ups to turn Pop-up Blocker on.
      - Click to clear Block pop-ups to turn Pop-up Blocker off.
  • Windows Vista
    1. Click the Start button and open Internet Explorer.
    2. Click the Tools button and then click Pop-Up Blocker.
    3. Do one of the following:
      - Click to select Block pop-ups to turn Pop-up Blocker on.
      - Click to clear Block pop-ups to turn Pop-up Blocker off.

Mozilla Firefox 2.-

  1. Click on Tools.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Uncheck "Block Pop Up Windows".
  4. Click OK.

Mozilla Firefox Version 3.+

  1. Click on Tools.
  2. Click on Options.
  3. Click on Content Button.
  4. Uncheck the Box.

Note: In the Mac version of Firefox, you can get to these options from the Firefox/Preferences menu in the menubar.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a new browser in it's early stages that approaches pop-ups a bit differently. You may allow pop-ups from CalCoast Online by doing the following:

  • When you go to a page with a pop-up that's been blocked, you will see a notice in the lower right corner of the browser:
  • Clicking on that will give you the option to Always show pop-ups from ccol.calcoastcu.org

Please note: we do not officially support the Google Chrome browser at this time. Should you encounter problems, please use one of our supported web browsers.

Safari

This pop up blocker is built into the Safari browser. To disable pop up blocking, follow these steps:

On a Mac:

  1. Click the word Safari on the browser menubar.
  2. Make sure that Block Pop-Up Windows is unchecked.

On Windows:

  1. Click on the Safari Options button on the upper right side:
  2. Make sure that Block Pop-Up Windows is unchecked.

This enables you to view pop up windows with Safari.

Netscape

Netscape's pop-up blocker is integrated into the browser. To disable the pop-up blocker:

  1. From the Edit menu, select the Preferences option.
  2. Click on the arrow beside the Privacy & Security option on the left-hand side of the window to make it display the options shown above.
  3. Click on the Pop-up Windows option.
  4. Remove the checkmark from beside the Block Unrequested Pop-up Windows option.
  5. Click Ok to close the Window.

This enables you to view pop up windows.

Yahoo Toolbar

One of the more popular toolbars, Yahoo features several other functions besides pop-up blocking.

To disable Pop-Ups on the Yahoo Toolbar, look for this button:

  1. Click on the Down arrow in the icon to bring up the menu.
  2. Uncheck the Enable Pop-Up Blocker option.

When finished, you can view pop-up windows.

Google Toolbar

The Google Toolbar includes pop-up blocking. To disable pop-up blocking, you must close the toolbar.

To disable pop-up blocking, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the toolbar. A menu appears, listing all available toolbars.
  2. Uncheck Google. This disables the Google toolbar.

You can now view pop-up windows.

Important Note: Changing the icon to reflect that pop-ups are now allowed does not allow certain programs to run. You must disable the entire toolbar to allow functionality.

MSN Toolbar

The MSN Toolbar has its own pop-up blocking notification button.

To disable the pop-up blocker, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the down-arrow to the right of the pop-up blocker button. A drop-down list appears.
  2. Click Allow Pop-ups.

You can now view pop-up windows.

AOL Toolbar

The AOL Toolbar is different than the AOL program itself. Like the others, this toolbar offers multiple features.

The toolbar contains a button that allows you to toggle between blocking and unblocking. When blocked, the words BLOCKED appears. When disabled, the word ALLOWED appears. Toggle between these two states to enable or disable pop-up windows.

PopUp Stopper

PopUp Stopper is designed solely for preventing pop-up windows. It installs a white hand-appearnce icon in the lower right corner of your Start Menu Toolbar.

To disable the pop-up blocker, follow these steps:

  1. Right-click on the hand icon. A menu appears with options.
  2. Uncheck Block pop-up ad windows.

This enables you to view pop up windows.

PopUp Cop

PopUp Cop is designed solely for preventing pop-ups. It installs a toolbar in the browser.

To disable the pop-up blocker, follow these steps:

  1. Click the arrow to the right of the badge. A menu appears with a list of options.
  2. Click Disable PopUpCop. Once disabled, you should be able to view pop up windows.
